Have your say on the first three phases of the North Abingdon-on-Thames development

In 2017, CEG secured outline planning permission from the Vale of White Horse District Council for the North Abingdon-on-Thames development. The approved plans included up to 900 homes, with a mixed-use local centre, retirement apartments, care home, primary school and public open space (application reference number P17/V0050/O). The North Abingdon-on-Thames development will be brought forward in phases.

David Wilson Homes and Barratt Homes are now looking to deliver the first three phases of the North Abingdon-on-Thames site, this includes western parcel A, western parcel B and central parcel A, as shown on the plan below.

In February 2019 David Wilson Homes and Barratt Homes held a public consultation with local residents on their plans to deliver the first three phases of the North Abingdon-on-Thames development. You can download the exhibition boards here.

Our Proposals

The proposals will deliver the first three phases of the North Abingdon-on-Thames development. The scheme will provide a high quality residential development, including affordable housing.

The proposed scheme will include:

  • 425 new homes, including 35% affordable housing
  • A housing mix of 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom dwellings
  • New vehicular access from Dunmore Road
  • New pedestrian and cycle access from Dunmore Road
  • New public open space and play areas for existing and future residents
  • Pedestrian and cycle pathways on and off site, including through Tilsley Park
  • A high-quality landscape scheme including the retention of existing woodland and additional planting
  • A sustainable drainage system and improved surface water run off to and from the site
